Does a mood journal help?

I was diagnosed with bipolar earlier this year. Since then, I have been told to try a number of things to help. One of the recent ones being a mood journal. Is this something that typically helps people who suffer from bipolar disorders?

Re: Does a mood journal help?

It has helped me a little bit but I haven't stuck with it long enough. Some people recommend using graph paper since it is easier. You just use colors to express moods and fill int he squares. I started doing this recently and it is nice to see my progress and be able to show my doctor.

Re: Does a mood journal help?

I think it helps for me, but my issue is with anxiety. The chart my doctor gave me says on it that this kind of journal helps with anxiety, PTSD, depression, and bipolar.
